Zebra MotionWorks is the technology that underpins the NFL’s Next Gen Stats. The company developed in-stadium sensor to track data from RFID tags placed in the player’s shoulder pads, yard markers, pylons, and inside footballs. Every NFL regular and preseason game is tracked and that information is collected and distributed to the NFL, who then distributes it to teams and other partners. The MotionWorks Nexus application provides views of overall system sensor and tag health, full game event logs, single play analysis and visualization, and individual player data such as speed, acceleration, and field position.
