Saturn Ion Road Rally Kiosk
Saturn introduced the Ion model at the 2002 New York Auto Show and the Road Rally Kiosk was a key facet of the introductory display. The kiosk featured three pods with a replica seat and console from the production vehicle and LCD screen. The rally itself was a first-person, single-player racing game where the player navigates through a 3D course of various environments, such as highway, city, and school zones. The player drives through the course via the steering wheel and acceleration and break petals. While playing, the console displays the player’s MPH and RPMs. The player is scored based on how long it took him to navigate the course and how close he drove to the posted speed limits.
